PARTNERSHIPS

Partnerships are larger sponsorships that align with Waipā Networks’ strategy and deliver clear customer, community or regional value. 

These opportunities are assessed as part of our wider sponsorship portfolio. We look for initiatives that help make customer value visible, strengthen trust, support practical local outcomes, and connect to what customers and communities tell us matters. 

Partnerships are usually for requests over $1,000. 

Partnership pillars 

  • Delivering customer value and practical community benefit: Initiatives that provide clear benefit to customers or communities and help make the value of Waipā Networks’ role more visible. 
  • Regional growth and business connection: Initiatives that support local growth, strengthen business connections, or help us better understand commercial and industrial customer needs. 
  • Customer education and energy choice: Initiatives that help customers make informed choices about energy use, safety, efficiency, new technology, discounts or the role of the local network. 
  • Future skills and industry pathways: Initiatives that support education, skills and pathways connected to electricity, infrastructure, engineering, technology and trades. 

We look for initiatives that:

  • have a clear connection to one or more partnership pillars 
  • deliver practical customer, community or regional value 
  • benefit the Waipā Networks area or Waipā Networks customers 
  • help customers understand the value of the local electricity network 
  • create useful opportunities for engagement, education, feedback or relationship-building 
  • include clear outcomes or measures of success 
  • support a balanced sponsorship portfolio 

Brand exposure, logo placement and publicity benefits may form part of a sponsorship, but they are not the main reason we support an initiative. 

Review and reporting 

For larger sponsorships, we may ask for a post-activity report. This helps us understand what was delivered, who benefited, and whether the sponsorship created value for customers, communities or stakeholders.
