Community grants

Our Community Grants support local groups, projects and events that deliver positive outcomes for our customers and communities.

We run two funding rounds each year, with successful applicants able to receive up to $1,000.

Funding is available for community-focused initiatives that support wellbeing, connection, education, resilience or local participation.

Funding rounds

Applications open 1 March and 1 September each year

Applications close 31 March and 30 September each year

Applicants will be notified of the outcome following each funding round.

We support initiatives that:

benefit communities within the Waipā Networks area

have practical local outcomes

are accessible to the community

strengthen community wellbeing, connection, resilience or education

are clear about how the funding will be used.

We do not usually sponsor:

activities outside the Waipā Networks area

travel and accommodation costs

general or ongoing operating costs

financial support for an individual

political activities or campaigns

activities that create safety, reputational or regulatory risk.
