A straightforward job requiring no network upgrade takes about 30 days, provided your electrician has your service cable installed to the correct standard. Anything more complex can take 4-6 months.

If you need a network upgrade, our Projects team will contact you for more information. Please note a non-refundable $1,000 deposit is required before a quote will be provided. The current lead time on quotes is 8 to 12 weeks.

If you’re doing a subdivision, please complete our Subdivision Connection form.

If you’re doing a residential connection, please complete our Residential Connection form.

Once we receive your application, we’ll begin the process.

An application administration fee of $172.50 (incl GST) is required before processing your application.

You may also be charged the following fees:

  • Inspection fee (if Waipā Networks engaged) of $98 (incl GST)
  • Standard connections up to 70kva of $2,727.80 (incl GST)
  • Non-standard connections 70kva and over of $39.10 per kva (incl GST)

You can pay the application fee by online banking into our account using your name as the payment reference. We don’t accept credit card payments.

Once we receive your application fee, we’ll progress your application by reviewing your documents, scheduling a site visit, and/or assigning a Project Manager.
