Introducing our Accelerated Connection Pilot
We’re changing the way eligible new connections are quoted to make the process faster and simpler.
From Wednesday 5 August 2026, projects involving up to five residential lots may qualify for our new Accelerated Connection Pilot. Instead of waiting for a bespoke network design before receiving a quote, eligible projects can now be priced using fixed pilot pricing, allowing us to provide a quote in just five working days. There is also no application fee for eligible pilot projects.
Pricing
Eligible projects are priced using two fixed rates, as follows:
Our multi-lot rate is available to eligible two-to-five lot connections. Note that a two-lot request will pay a total of $13,500 + GST (2 x $6,750).

Important information:
- The location of the network connection point will be determined by Waipā Networks and will be in the road reserve. To help us provide your quote sooner, no bespoke network design will be provided before your Accelerator quote is issued.
- If you request changes to the standard pilot design, such as relocating network assets, these will be treated as customer-requested enhancements. Any additional costs beyond the standard Accelerator pilot pricing will be payable by you.
- The pilot applies to eligible applications submitted from Wednesday 5 August 2026. Applications and quotes processed before this date are not eligible.
- Projects that require significant network upgrades or bespoke engineering design will continue to be individually assessed and quoted.
- Please note that normal construction lead times will still apply.
