We support local organisations and initiatives that deliver practical benefits for customers and communities across the Waipā Networks area.
Our sponsorships help strengthen trust, support local outcomes, and make the value of the local electricity network more visible. We prioritise activities that align with our strategy, reflect what our customers tell us matters, and contribute to a balanced programme of community benefit.
Community grants
Small grants to support a broad range of local groups and activities that provide clear community benefit in the Waipā Networks area.
We run two funding rounds each year to support community-focused initiatives. Successful applicants can receive up to $1,000.

Partnerships
Larger sponsorships for initiatives, partnerships or events that strongly align with Waipā Networks’ strategy and deliver clear customer, community or regional value.
Partnerships are assessed against our sponsorship pillars and considered as part of our wider sponsorship portfolio.
Applications are open all year-round.

We prioritise initiatives that:
- deliver practical customer or community benefit
- help customers better understand the value Waipā Networks provides
- support stronger communication, trust and local relationships
- connect to customer needs or insights
- support a balanced mix of benefit across residential, rural, commercial and industrial customers
- take place within the Waipā Networks area, or provide a clear strategic benefit to Waipā Networks customers
We do not usually sponsor:
- activities outside the Waipā Networks area, unless there is a clear strategic benefit to Waipā Networks customers
- travel and accommodation costs
- ongoing operating expenses
- financial support for an individual
- political parties or political campaigns
- activities that create safety, reputational or regulatory risk
- activities where the main benefit is logo placement without clear customer, community or strategic value
We receive many sponsorship requests and cannot support every opportunity. Our decisions are guided by strategic fit, customer and community benefit, and the overall balance of our sponsorship portfolio.
