MYSTERY CREEK AREA UPGRADES

We’re upgrading the network in the Kaipaki and Mystery Creek areas to keep up with local growth and make power supply more reliable for customers in the area. The mahi includes installing automated equipment that helps us get lights back on faster when faults happen, strengthening the network for the long term and reducing the risk of future disruptions.

We’re aiming to wrap up most of this work before the Christmas season so whānau, farms and businesses have a stable supply when it’s needed most. Some follow-up work may take place in January 2026.

How will customers be impacted?

Planned outages

Some planned outages will take place so our crews can complete this work safely. Impacted customers will be notified by their electricity retailer.

Most outages will last between eight and 10 hours. Some short 15-minute outages are also needed to switch customers onto backfeeding while work is underway.
