Waipā Networks to co-host 2024 Connexis | Te Pukenga competition

Next Year’s annual three-day Connexis | Te Pukenga Annual Competition NZ will be co-hosted by Waipā Networks and The Lines Company Ltd at Te Awamutu’s Castleton Park from 22 to 24 October.

Annual Connection attracts industry workers from across New Zealand. It sees line mechanic crew and cable jointers from around the country compete in a series of industry-related challenges and put their workplace learnings and skills to the test.

Sean Horgan, Waipā Networks CEO, says the competition is an excellent way to introduce people to the industry.

He stated, “We are really excited to have the opportunity to showcase the mahi our teams put into keeping the lights on and enabling our region to decarbonise.”

To conclude the prestigious event, excellence awards will be awarded to top trainees in the industry to recognise their capabilities and attitude towards their work. These awards are an honourable achievement to take home and represent the quality of work you can offer customers as a trainee and your company.
