Waipā Networks Supports Safe Digging Month

Waipā Networks is proud to support Safe Digging Month in November 2022 in collaboration with BeforeUdig.

BeforeUdig is a FREE online service for anyone undertaking excavation works to find the location of cables, pipes and other utility assets in and around any proposed dig site. This helps to protect themselves and valuable assets during these works. In most cases, it provides a one-stop shop for contractors to communicate their planned activities with member utilities and authorities.

We have a collective responsibility to reduce incidents and protect New Zealanders during the month. We play an essential part in this public safety initiative by promoting safe digging practices to avoid damaging our network cables and pipes.

BeforeUdig’s services have been preventing damage and injury for over 13 years. Throughout 2021, they obtained 177,281 lodged enquiries, with CEO Duane Rodgers stating, “We are on a mission to provide a revolutionary set of solutions and services for essential infrastructure protection.”
