Rowing into the new year in Kawhia

Kawhia, Te Waitere and Oparau whale rowing clubs rowed their way into the new year at the annual Kawhia whale rowing club on Waitangi Day.

Waipā Networks was a proud sponsor for the day and managed to catch the action firsthand alongside the competitors and spectators at the family-friendly event. Competitors can range from novices to veterans, ensuring there is an event that caters to every age and skill level.

Food and beverage carts were provided. Kawhia Rowing Regatta Club merchandise could be purchased at the event.

Despite challenging waters and harsh wind, the event was a raging success.

Congratulations to Kawhia Rowing Regatta Club for securing the Regatta Day Shield with the highest points at the end of the day. Waipā Networks enjoyed the day out and looks forward to the next event.
