Nominations open for Winter Warmer Packs

28 July 2024 | News

As the chill and morning frosts continue, Waipā Networks encourages nominations for the 2024 Winter Warmer Packs, which will bring much-needed warmth and comfort to Waipā whānau.

Last year, 200 households received a winter warmer pack, and this year, we’re aiming even higher with a goal of giving away 300 packs.

This years winter warmer packs, designed to be puku warmers, will include slow cookers packed with ingredients to cook wholesome meals and feel-good treats that take the chill off.

Waipā Networks, general manager of customer and community Anna Greenhill, says it makes a huge difference for people who really need it.

The success and reach of this initiative is made possible by the generous support of local community sponsors, including Freshchoice Leamington, CHP Electrical, Ingham Mitsubishi Te Awamutu, Wilson Consumer Products, and Bays Print Management.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from our sponsors,” Greenhill said.

“You’re able to self-nominate, or you’re able to nominate a family, friend or neighbour. Packs are limited, so get in quick. A winter warmer pack could be a really nice touch to somebody’s day.”

Residents of Waipā who wish to nominate themselves or someone else are urged to nominate now as packs are limited.

There is one condition – nominees must reside within the Waipā Networks service region.

Nominations can be submitted through the Winter Warmer Pack Nomination Form 2024.
