Meet Audrey Scheurich, Head of Finance & Commercial

Today, we want to introduce you to Audrey Scheurich, our Head of Finance & Commercial at Waipā Networks. We chatted with Audrey to learn more about her background, her thoughts on the company, and some fun facts about herself.

Audrey has been working in the infrastructure sector since 2005, gaining a ton of experience along the way. She spent a good part of her career (nine years) – at Genesis Energy at the Huntly Power station for six years and at the corporate office for three years. After that, she joined Wellington Water for four years before heading back to the electricity sector at The Lines Company. Finally, in September 2022, Audrey found her way to Waipā Networks.

When we asked Audrey what she loves most about working here, she couldn’t help but praise the amazing people she works with daily. Having a supportive and fun team can really make a job enjoyable. Audrey also mentioned that the industry and the company are going through exciting changes, bringing a lot of energy and keeping things interesting.

Looking to the future, Audrey is particularly excited about the growth opportunities for our business. She believes the company is in a great position to make investments to shape its growth. With the region experiencing a boom in new housing and businesses and the increasing use of electric vehicles, Audrey is thrilled to be a part of planning and implementing strategies to meet these growing demands.

Regarding memorable experiences here, Audrey highlighted the team’s resilience during Cyclone Gabrielle. They not only took care of each other’s safety but also offered support to other networks in need. Seeing such teamwork and solidarity is amazing, especially during challenging times.

And here’s a fun fact about Audrey—she’s quite the sewing enthusiast! When she’s not crunching numbers and making financial magic happen, she enjoys working on sewing projects. Audrey has even crafted stunning rhythmic gymnastics leotards adorned with shiny diamantes and bling. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she has also sewn a gorgeous wedding dress. Talk about talent and creativity!
