Jonathan Kay

CHAIR

A Senior Executive and Leader in Infrastructure, Technology and Process, Jonathan Kay is currently Chair at Waipā Networks. He is also the director of multiple organisations, including Whitestone Contracting Limited, Network Waitaki Limited and Lone Wolf Enterprises. His years of experience within these sectors enable him to draw on his strategic insight, commercial savvy and astute marketing skills in a dynamic work environment.

Mike Marr

DEPUTY CHAIR

Mike Marr, is a New Zealand entrepreneur and founder of TPT Group. Over the past 24 years, he has led ten successful start-ups and completed 14 acquisitions. Mike began his career as an electrical apprentice and holds multiple qualifications, including an Advanced Diploma in Business. His leadership has been recognised with several awards, including the 2020 Blake Leader Award and the 2017 Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion of Entrepreneurship. As well as our Deputy Chair, he’s also Rhema Media’s Chair, and a Counties Energy Trust Trustee.

Jonathan Cameron

DIRECTOR

Jonathan Cameron is a Managing Principal at Elevate Capital Partner and Director of multiple organisations, including, Tupu Angitu / Lake Taupo Forest Trust, Veterinary Enterprises Group and Hawkes Bay Regional Investments. In addition to this, Jonathon is Chair of  NZ Forest Managers. Jonathan has a passion for collaborating with organisations, business owners and board and management teams who want to shape and extend the reach of their organisations.

Jennifer Kerr

DIRECTOR

Jennifer Kerr is an experienced Executive, Governor and member of many business organisations. She is Chair of WorkSafe, Chair of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Deputy Chair of Callaghan Innovation, a member of the New Zealand Police Assurance & Risk Committee and Director of Eke Panuku Development Auckland.

Mark Stuart

DIRECTOR

Mark Stuart is an experienced Director, Partner and member of multiple business organisations. He is a Partner at Movac, and Investment Manager backing New Zealand businesses, Chair of the Board of Directors for Industrial Tube Manufacturing Company Limited and Parking Sense and a Council member for New Zealand Private Capital.

Shane Ellison

DIRECTOR

Shane is a proud member of Ngāi Tahu, Te Atiawa, Ngāti Mutunga and Ngāti Ruanui. He has extensive experience in senior leadership and as a CEO, leading diverse teams, managing financials, and overseeing assets. With over 11 years of board experience, Shane has served on Dunedin International Airport Limited and Auckland Light Rail Limited boards. Earlier in his career, Shane managed small rail networks and high-voltage electricity systems.

Ashleigh Turner

FUTURE DIRECTOR

Ashleigh (Ngāti Maniapoto, Waikato, Ngāti Awa) brings over 15 years of experience in iwi, government, and private sectors to Waipā Networks. Raised in Ōtorohanga and Hangatiki, she is committed to community and Māori outcomes. As General Manager of Waihikurangi, Te Nehenehenui’s charitable arm, she leads whānau, hapū, and iwi development. She also mentors businesses in Waikato through Business Mentors New Zealand. Fluent in Te Reo Māori, she dedicates her career to creating a brighter future for her community.

Michelle Walker

SECRETARY

Michelle Walker is a highly experienced Enterprise Administrator. Michelle joined the Waipā Networks Board as Secretary in November 2018. She is currently the lead Enterprise Administrator for the CEO. Michelle has a passion for communicating with key stakeholders.

Sean Horgan

CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Sean Horgan is the Chief Executive Officer and joined the team in July 2022. With over 20 years of experience in business development, strategic management, and operational leadership in the energy sector across the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, Sean brings a wealth of expertise to his role. He holds a Master of Management Studies from Waikato University and has completed postgraduate courses at INSEAD and London Business School. Before joining, Sean served as the Chief Executive of The Lines Company and has held senior leadership positions at WEL Networks, Northpower, Alstom Power, and Meridian Energy. Throughout his career, Sean has been involved in numerous major projects and has led collaborative teams that have delivered outstanding results within the energy sector and also serves on the Board of Electricity Networks Aotearoa.

Audrey Scheurich

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Audrey Scheurich joined us as Chief Financial Officer in September 2022. With over 35 years of experience in finance and infrastructure, she brings a diverse skill set to the organisation. Audrey’s considerable experience and ongoing commitment to excellence have been honed through her tenure at organisations such as AgResearch, Genesis Energy, Wellington Water, and The Lines Company. Audrey’s ongoing pursuit of refining financial processes and evaluating projects and investments to ensure targets are met aligns seamlessly with her role at Waipā Networks. At the board level, Audrey serves as a trustee at Hospice Waikato, where she is entrusted with the management and administration of the charity. Her capacity to devise policies that uphold strong governance, along with her proven communication skills, make her a valuable asset to Waipā Networks.

Anna Greenhill

GENERAL MANAGER CUSTOMER & COMMUNITY

Anna Greenhill is the General Manager Customer and Community Engagement and joined the team in August 2022. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications across various industries, including technology, defence and security, information technology security, agriculture and higher education. Anna brings diverse knowledge and unique expertise to Waipā Networks, from market research, marketing, brand strategy and campaign development, to new technologies, processes and systems. During Anna’s career, she has worked for organisations such as Gallagher, The University of Waikato, Waikato Regional Council and Mystery Creek Events Centre. Anna has a passion for collaboration, connection and creating unique experiences for customers, which has contributed to her success in past communication and marketing roles over the years.

David Fuller

GENERAL MANAGER PEOPLE, SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY

David Fuller is the General Manager People, Safety, and Sustainability and has been part of the team since September 2023. With experience in occupational health and safety, project management, business transformation and change management, and human resources, David is a senior manager with a wide range of expertise across various industries. Career highlights include working with organisations such as Transpower, WEL Networks, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, HSE Global, and ECL Group, which provided him with a strong foundation and exceptional leadership skills that he now brings to Waipā Networks. David is a versatile leader who excels in collaborating with teams. David’s background as a mental health nurse and group psychotherapist brings a deep understanding of wellbeing to his work and positively contributes to the team culture at Waipā Networks. He is dedicated to supporting the company and its employees to realise Waipā Networks’ vision for the benefit of the whole Waipā community.

Tom Bromfield

GENERAL MANAGER DELIVERY

Tom Bromfield is one of the newest members of the team, joining us as General Manager Delivery in April 2024. He has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, both in New Zealand and abroad. His career began in Liverpool, England, where he specialised in high-voltage cable jointing and gained full qualifications as a line mechanic and fault technician. In 2011, Tom migrated to New Zealand, where he established himself as a highly regarded cable installation and testing specialist, providing comprehensive solutions covering design, planning, project management, installation, testing, and commissioning across New Zealand and the Pacific. Throughout his career, Tom has demonstrated his ability to thrive in diverse roles, from reactive fault repair to large business management. His focus on long-term strategy and day-to-day operations prepared him well for his current position at Waipā Networks. Tom is known for his collaborative approach in the workplace, where he values team learning and growth through guidance and support.

Weihao Zhou

GENERAL MANAGER NETWORK

Weihao Zhou is the General Manager Network and has been in the team since September 2022.  As a chartered professional engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in the power industry, he has acquired a broad knowledge of the electricity sector and brings unique skills to Waipā Networks. After graduating from the University of Canterbury in 2005 with a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours), Weihao started his career at ElectroNet Ltd as a consultant engineer. He then joined WEL Networks in 2010, where he furthered his passion for engineering as a planning engineer and later led the engineering team. While at WEL Networks he gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Study. Since joining Waipā Networks, Weihao has shown that he possesses strong practical engineering and leadership skills. He not only has the expertise to lead the team to deliver complex projects, he is passionate about growing the team and driving organisational changes.
