COVID-19 LEVEL 2 UPDATE 07 September 2021
Waipa Networks’ operations have begun to return to normal, while ensuring we follow the Government’s strict requirements around Level 2. This means you can have confidence that when you see our team out and about they are doing everything they can to keep themselves and our community safe.
Our office in Te Awamutu reopens from Monday 13 September 2021 however we ask wherever possible you phone us on 07 872 0745 for any general queries rather than physically visit our reception. If however you do need to visit us, we have Level 2 hygiene, social distancing and contact tracing protocols in place to ensure your safety and the safety of our team.
COVID-19 LEVEL 3 UPDATE 01 September 2021
Waipa Networks’ focus during Level 4 has essentially been to ‘keep the lights on’ and ensure we have resources available to quickly and safely restore power during faults.
This remains our focus during Level 3, with some additional critical maintenance work and customer-generated work, where that work is able to be done safely with the required COVID-19 social distancing and PPE (personal protective equipment).
The recommencement of critical maintenance work will mean some planned outages, however we aim to keep these to a minimum as we understand that many people, including most of our staff, continue to work from home.
Our Te Awamutu Office continues to remain closed to all but critical deliveries. Our Customer Service staff will continue to receive calls from their remote working locations however the reception will remain closed. Customers as always can reach us 24/7 on our faults and emergencies number 0800 800 769.
We again thank customers for their continued patience and understanding during this challenging time.
COVID-19 UPDATE 17 August 2021
As an essential service, our priority is to keep the power on, and in the event the power goes off during a fault, to make sure we get it back on as soon as we can. This continues to be our focus now that we have returned to COVID-19 Level 4.
We also need to make sure that we are doing our bit to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and isolate staff at home wherever this does not impact our critical response ability.
Accordingly, we have postponed all new connection and upgrade work during Level 4 and organised our field crews to be stationed at home and only called out in the event of a power fault.
We have also sent all administration and planning staff off site where they are working from home in isolation.
This means our Te Awamutu Office has been closed. However customers as always can reach us 24/7 on our faults and emergencies number 0800 800 769.
As the COVID-19 Delta variant is rapidly evolving we will be constantly reviewing our response and thank customers for their understanding during this challenging time.
We will update this page periodically.
